The project turned out to be a lot easier to complete than I first anticipated. Perhaps that is because of Ruby and Ruby on Rails. It was extremely easy to prototype. Authentication was setup with the Ruby on Rails generator. It's not flashy and I probably wouldn't use it for a web application with user accounts, but it provided enough authentication features to allow me to manage this website with admin privileges.
